Q: How do I apply?

Q: What are the requirements?

A: 

1. You hold the South African nationality

2. In the past 5 years you have not lived in Europe for more than 12 months

3. You are either: 

  • A member of Target Group 1: PhD candidates or staff members of one of the following universities: UFS, SUN, TUT, UCT, UFH, UJ, UL, UWC, WITS.
  • A member of Target Group 2: A PhD student at any other South African institution. 

 

Q: I am a staff member at UNISA (or any non-partner institution), can I apply for a staff exchange?

A: No, staff exchanges are reserved for staff from our partner universities. You may apply for a Master/PhD scholarship if you are enrolled in a Master/PhD programme.

 

Q: I do not have a passport yet, can I apply anyway?

Yes, simply fill in (not yet available) in the relevant field of the application form and send us your passport number as soon as you have it.

 

Q: When will I know the result of my application?

The selection meeting takes place in early June and all applicants will be informed of the results soon after.
