Entry Criteria & Visa Requirements

Please note that the University of Newcastle can only accept exchange students! This means that you have to be enrolled in a similar programme at a South African University and only complete part of your degree in Newcastle!

A minimum of a 2:1 honours degree in a relevant subject, Masters degree in relevant subject preferred. For those whose first language is not English IELTS 7.0 is required with a minimum of 6.5 in written English 6.5 in speaking, and minimum 6.0 in all other sub-skills.
